Meet the Team!

We are proud that our small team has a combined 40 years of various types of construction experience. We’ve managed almost every part of a home build, from selling trusses to laying tile. We’ve remodeled 120 year old houses and built brand new tiny homes. What we are best at, however, is helping a homeowner craft a vision and managing the realization of that vision. We love to use our knowledge, resources, and network to create a finished product for you that exceeds your expectations.

We live and work in a diverse part of North Carolina and we love working with people of all backgrounds. You can rest assured that our team cares deeply about respecting you and your property.

Jessa Carpenter

Jessa Carpenter

Builder and Owner; Licensed Contractor

Jessa’s love for renovations began from a young age, as she watched her father’s Miami based flooring company at work. She has strong memories of playing with carpet samples and “supervising” everyone from her out-of-the-way spot on the stairs.

Her favorite part, then and now, is watching the transformation that occurs between demo and the finished product. Jessa loves helping people transform their house into a home and a place you can fill with joyful memories.

Jessa moved to North Carolina in 2013, desperate to escape the heat of Florida and find a place where she could enjoy the seasons and quickly fell in love with her new home state.

Brian Burns

Brian Burns

Project Director

Brian fell in love with home remodeling out of necessity, by fixing up his first home at the age of 25. Working in insurance, he was desperate to get out from behind the desk.

It is an incredible feeling to gain skills and to see the difference craftsmanship can make in turning a house into a home. Soon after that, Brian went to work in renovations with his best friend in their Appalachian home town.

As a Project Director at Crafted, Brian’s commitment to excellence and attention to detail comes in handy as he wrangles construction chaos and guides clients and subcontractors through the home building process.

Brian graduated from NC State and currently lives in Durham, where he feels like he’s found his people.

Meredith Pysnik

Meredith Pysnik

Project Coordinator

Meredith has a lifelong love of all manner of creative making and puzzle solving. After spending 20+ years working in administrative, management, and HR roles she did a Brave Thing and decided to make the move to the world of construction. She completed a construction trades training program through the local organization Hope Renovations in spring 2026.

As a Project Coordinator at Crafted, Meredith is thrilled for the opportunity to combine her years of previous project, management, and event coordination experience in other fields with her new (and growing!) knowledge and training in building. She is especially grateful to have found a place on the Crafted team where we all care so deeply about our clients, subcontractors, and each other.

So far, her favorite parts of this role include getting to work more with her hands and away from a desk, building trusting relationships with colleagues and clients, learning new things every day, and getting to visit and play with all the client and office animal friends.

Meredith has lived in Durham for 21 years and counting. She loves this diverse community and sharing it with her 9-year-old daughter, Cora, and dog/love potato, Azalea.
